Ingredients

  • Wheat flour[Atta, godhumai maavu]– 1 cup
  • Rava[semolina] – 1 tbsp
  • Butter – 2 tbsp
  • Cardamom powder– 1 tbsp
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Sugar – 1 tbsp
  • Salt a pinch
  • Curd – 1 tbsp
  • Water as needed
  • Oil & ghee for deep frying

Sugar Syrup

  • Sugar - 1 cup
  • Water - 1/4 to 1/2 cup
  • Green cardamom – 1 tbsp

Preparation

  • In a bowl add butter, curd, sugar, & salt beat well.
  • Then add wheat flour, rava, cardamom powder & oil mix well.
  • Add water mix well, knead & make soft smooth dough.
  • Then cover it & leave it for 5 min.
  • Divide the dough into equal size balls. Then press gently in the middle of the balls like doughnuts.
  • Heat oil & ghee in a pan, put pieces one by one & deep fry on medium flame.
  • Once fried flip over & cook another side.
  • Once it’s turned light brown take it out. Drain on an absorbent paper.
  • For sugar syrup:- Add sugar & water in a pan mix gently & let it dissolve.
  • Then let it boil till you get one string consistency.
  • Immediately place in to the sugar syrup & leave it for 30 min.
  • Then take it out & cool it in room temperature.
  • Once sugar syrup fully absorbed & totally dried then store it in an airtight container & use within 5 days
