Ingredients

  • Cornmeal [Broken maize, Corn rava ] – 1 cup
  • Onion – 1 [sliced]
  • Coconut – 3 tbsp [grated]
  • Curd – 2 tbsp [fully whisked]
  • Tomato – 1 [finely chopped]
  • Ginger – 1 tbsp [finely chopped]
  • Green chilli – 1 [slit]
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Coriander leaves – 3 springs [chopped]
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Bengal gram – 1 tbsp
  • Urad dal – 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Water – 2 ½ cups

Preparation

  • Heat pan then add cornmeal & sprinkle ½ tbsp of oil then roast.
  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker then add mustard seeds & let it splutter. Then add Bengal gram and urad dal.
  • Add onion sauté till soft then add ginger sauté. Then add green chilli, curry leaves & tomato saute till soft.
  • Add water & salt mix well. Then add coconut & curd mix well & let it boil. Then add roasted rava mix well & cover it, cook for 4 whistles.
  • Then cut off heat, sprinkle coriander leaves & serve hot with chutney or pickles.
