Raw Jackfruit Curry | Palakkai Masala | Kathal ki Sabzi

Ingredients
- Raw Jackfruit [Palaakkai Pinju, Baby Jackfruit] - ½
- Shallots – 5
- Garlic – 1 clove
- Dry red chilli – 1
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Coriander leaves – 2 spring [chopped]
- Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
- Red chilli powder – ¼ tbsp
- Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
- Bengal gram – ½ tbsp
- Urad dal – ½ tbsp
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
Roasting and grinding ingredients
- Shallots [sambar onion] – 10
- Garlic – 4
- Ginger – 1 inch
- Coconut – 2 tbsp [grated]
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Dry red chilli – 1
- Cinnamon – ½ inch stick
- Fennel seeds – 1 tbsp
- Cumin seeds – 1 tbsp
- Coriander seeds – 1 tbsp
- Heat oil in a pan then add ingredients roast then cool it and coarsely grind.
Method
- Peel the skin of jack fruit and wash, cut into cubes then put in a turmeric added water.
- Heat oil in a pan then add mustard seeds. Once it’s spluttered then add Bengal gram, urad dal and onion sauté till soft.
- Then add garlic and dry red chilli sauté gently.
- Add curry leaves add jack fruit and red chilli powder mix well then add water cook till soft.
- Then add ground paste and salt mix well & cook till raw smell out.
- Cut off heat then add lemon juice and coriander leaves mix well & serve hot with rice.
