Ingredients
- Wheat rava[Godhuma Rava, samba rava] - 1 cup
- Curd - ½ cup
- Carrot [grated] - 1 tbsp
- Cashew nut - 4 [roasted with ghee and chopped]
- Green chilli - 1 [chopped]
- Curry leaves - 1 spring
- Ginger - 1 tbsp [grated]
- Coriander Leaves - ½ cup [chopped]
- Mustard seeds - 1 tbsp
- Bengal gram – 1 tbsp
- Urad dal – 1 tbsp
- Asafetida - a pinch
- Oil - 3 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
Preparation Method
- Mix 1 cup of wheat rava with ½ cup curd and ¼ cup water and salt mix well (general Idli batter consistency) and leave it for 2 hours.
- Heat oil in a pan then add mustard seeds & let it splutter. Then add Bengal gram & urad dal, asafetida green chilli, ginger, carrot, and curry leaves sauté gently.
- Cut off heat then add chopped coriander leaves. Add these seasoned ingredients into rava batter mixture.
- Heat idli cooker with water & let it boil. Then grease idly plates with oil and pour wheat rava batter mixture in each cavity, place it in boiling water, cover lid and steam it for 15 min.
- Serve hot with coconut chutney.

wheat rava - 1 cup
Heat pan, add wheat rava
Dry raost till you get nice aroma
Transfer to a plate, let it cool for 2 min
Add salt
Add 1 cup curd mix well
Add 1/2 cup water, mix well
Batter ready, leave it for 1 hour 30 min
For seasoing:- Add 1 tbsp oil, chana dal, urad dal fry till light brown
Add ginger, green chilli, curry leaves, corainder leaves, asafoetida
1 hour 30 min later, batter absorbs all the curd and water
Add 1/4 water to adjust the consistency of batter
Add seasoned ingredients, mix well
Batter ready
Grease idli paltes with sesame oil
Pour batter
Steam it for 10 min
After steaming
Soft wheat rava idli ready
Demold idli
Soft and healthy wheat rava idli, serve hot with coconut chutney
