Main ingredients
- Vendakkai – ¼ kilo [cut in to 1 inch]
- Onion – 1 big [sliced]
- Red chilli -1
- Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
- Cumin seeds – ½ tbsp
- Bengal gram– ½ tbsp
- Urad dal– ½ tbsp
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Red chilli powder – ½ tbsp
- Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil – 3 tbsp
- Water As needed
ingredients for roasting and grinding
- Sambar onion – 6 to 7
- Red chilli- 2
- Tamarind – 1 inch
- Tomato – 2
- Coconut – 2 tbsp [grated]
- Coriander seeds – 1 tbsp
- Cumin seeds – 1 tbsp
- Fennel seeds – ½ tbsp
- Bengal gram– 1 tbsp
- Urad dal– 1 tbsp
- Garlic – 1 clove
- * Heat pan with oil roast all ingredients then grind to fine paste
Method
- In a thick pan fry Okra for 10 min (with pinch of salt) in a low flame and keep aside.
- Heat pan with oil then add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, Bengal gram and urad dal.
- Add onion & sauté well then add red chilli, curry leaves.
- Add cooked okra then add red chilli powder, turmeric powder mix well.
- Add ground paste, add water mix well. Cover it and cook. Once raw smell out and boiled. Turn off heat.
- Garnish with coriander leaves serve hot with rice, idly, dosa.

Add onion dry red chilli garlic
Add curry leaves
Add fried okra[vendakkai], Turmeric, Red chilli powder
Add ground paste
Add Water
Boiling
Ladies finger curry-Ready to serve with rice
