I love Gobi Manchurian, I would like to have it as evening snack especially during rainy days. I stopped eating Gobi Manchurian at hotels when it created lot of stomach upset. I don’t like the artificial color that they use in hotels which would not remove even by detergent some times. How harmful it is? The second one is oil. I saw some of the hotels’ oil color is black (reusing the same oil for several times. Are they really helping environment by applying reusability concept?).
Thank God I have overcome all these. I have prepared the yummy, tasty healthy Gobi Manchurian. I heard some of you asking me, is the food healthy when its deep fried. When you consume occasionally its not harmful, its not bad, its not fat. There is no bad food in the world. Only bad diet. Want to try the tastiest recipe at home? No preservatives added. Ingredients
- Cauliflower - 1
- Onion - 1 [finely chopped]
- Green chili - 3 [finely chopped]
- Garlic - 4 bulbs [finely chopped]
- Green spring onion -3 springs [finely chopped]
- Red chilli paste - 3 tbsp (nice grind 5 red chilli in a mixer grinder)
- Tomato sauce - 4 tbsp
- Soya sauce - 2 tbsp
- Pepper powder - 1 tbsp
- Sugar - 2 tsp
- Corn flour /Rice flour - 3 tbsp
- Maida / all purpose flour/wheat flour- 1/4 cup
- Oil for deep frying
- Salt to taste
Preparation
- Break the whole cauliflower into medium florets
- Heat water, sea salt & turmeric powder.
- Put cauliflower boil for 2 min to remove worms inside the Cauliflower
Now there are two major steps.
1. The first step is Deep frying the Gobi
- In a bowl add maida and corn flour with salt and pepper
- Add water and mix well make flowing consistency.
- Dip the broken cauliflower into the maida & corn flour batter
- Deep fry till crisp and golden brown.
2. Making gravy is the second step
- Heat oil in a pan heat add chopped onions saute
- Add garlic & green chilli saute.
- Add tomato sauce, red chilli paste, & soya sauce
- Finally add 1 tsp of corn flour and add water
- Sprinkle pepper and salt
- Now add chopped spring onion and mix well
The final cut
- Add fried Gobi into the gravy & mix well.
- Add chopped coriander leaves and spring onion
- Server hot.

Maida / all purpose flour
Cauliflower
Red Chilli sauce
Tomato sauce
Soya sauce
Corn Flour
Pepper
Maida
Boil cauliflower in salt & turmeric powder added water for 2 to 3 min then drain water
Add wheat flour/ maida, corn flour, rice flour, pepper powder & salt mix well
Add water make flowing consistency batter
Add cauliflower
Heat oil in a pan, add cauliflower
Deep fry till crisp & golden brown
Perfectly fried cauliflower, remove from oil, drain on absorbent paper
Heat oil add onion,garlic, & green chilli saute
Add spring onion, tomato sauce, & red chilli paste
Add soya sauce, corn flour
Add pepper powder & water mix well
Add water let it boil
Add fried cauliflower mix well
Gobi manchurian is ready, sprinkle spring onion, cut off heat, serve hot with fried rice
