Crispy okra(Vendaikai Pakoda)-How to make-Stepwise Pictures with Video

Ingredients

  • Okra [ladies finger] - 100 g
  • Rice flour - 5 tbsp
  • Bengal gram flour [Gram flour, besan flour, Kadalai maavu]- 3 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder - ½ tbsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves – ½  spring
  • Asafoetida – ½  tbsp
  • Salt as needed
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Water - 2 tbsp

Method

  • Slice okra [ladies finger] alongside and cut into long thin strips.
  • In a bowl take Rice flour, Bengal gram flour,red chilli powder, turmeric powder, Asafetida, salt and put sliced Okra and curry leaves then mix well.
  • Add little bit of water (not like bajji consistency).
  • Deep fry till light brown. Take it out. Then second fry till golden brown
  • Take with rice or tea.
