Manchurian style sesame bhindi

Ingredients
- Bhindi [Okra, vandakkai, ladies finger] – ¼ kg
- White sesame seeds – 2 tbsp [dry roasted]
- Maida – 3 tbsp
- Gram flour – 4 tbsp
- Onion – 1 [finely chopped]
- Garlic – 1 tbsp [grated]
- Green chilli – 1 tbsp [finely chopped]
- Soya sauce – 2 tbsp
- Red chilli paste - ½ tbsp [Soak 4 Kashmiri red chilies in warm water for 5 min then grind to smooth paste]
- Tomato sauce – ½ cup
- Freshly ground peppercorns – ¼ tsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil – for deep frying
- Water – ¼ cup
Preparation
- Cut bhindi into thin strips. In a bowl add bhindi, maida, gram flour, salt & 3 tbsp of water then mix well.
- Heat oil in a pan then deep fry till golden brown.
- Heat oil in a pan then add onion sauté till soft. Then add garlic & green chilli sauté.
- Add red chilli paste, tomato sauce, soya sauce & pepper powder mix well. Add 2 tbsp of water sauté till raw smell out.
- Then add shallow fried bhindi mix well & leave it for a min.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds. Then cut off heat & Serve hot with boiled rice, chapatti, biryani or pulao.
Tip
- Add spring onion at the end gives nice texture.
