Sindhi dal recipe

Ingredients
- Bengal gram / channa dal – 1 cup
- Water - 2 ½ to 3 cups
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Dry mango powder – ½ tbsp
- Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Garam masala powder – 1 tsp
- Coriander leaves – 1 spring [chopped]
- Salt to taste
- Sugar – ¼ tsp
- Oil – 2 tbsp
For seasoning
- Cumin seeds – 1 tbsp
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Green chilli – 1 [slit]
- Onion – 1 [finely chopped]
Method
- Wash & soak Bengal gram for 1 ½ hours. In a pressure cooker add 3 cup water, turmeric powder, cover it & cook for 4 whistles. Or boil in a pan for 30 min.
- Heat pan add boiled Bengal gram, salt, red chilli powder, dry mango powder & garam masala powder mix well & let it boil.
- For seasoning: - Heat another pan add oil, cumin seeds, onion sauté till golden brown. Then add green chilli & curry leaves sauté.
- Add seasoned ingredients to Bengal gram mixture mix well. Then add sugar & cut off heat.
Sprinkle coriander leaves & serve hot with rice.
