Jeera aloo | Cumin potato-Punjab special recipe Step by step photos & video

Ingredients
- Potato [Aloo]– 3
- Cumin seeds – 1 tbsp
- Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Cumin powder – 1 tbsp [Dry roast cumin seeds & coarsely grind]
- Coriander powder– 1 tbsp [Dry roast coriander seeds & coarsely grind]
- Pepper powder a pinch [Dry roast 2 to 3 peppercorns & coarsely grind]
- Dry mango powder – ¼ tsp [optional]
- Salt to taste
- Oil – 2 tbsp
Method
- Peel off the potato skin, cut into 1 inch cubes & boil till soft. Then drain water.
- In a bowl add boiled potato, salt, turmeric & red chilli powder mix well & keep it aside.
- Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds & let it splutter. Then add cumin, coriander & pepper powder.
- Add boiled potato, dry mango powder mix well, sauté for 2 min, & cut off heat. Serve hot with rice or chapati
Note
- You can add chat masala, fenu greek powder, kasoor methi when seasoning. It will give extra aromatic flavor for sabzi.

Healthy cumin potato
Boil bay potato with salt, peel off the skin
Add salt
Add Turmeric powder
Add red chilli powder
Mxi well, leave it for 5 min
Roast cumin, coriander & pepper
Let it cool then coarsely grind
Now its ready
Add 2 tbsp oil
CUmin seeds
Curry leave, grren chilli, asafoetida
Add potatoes
Saute for 2 min
Add ground cumin, coriander, pepper
Saute till crisp
Add corainder, kasoori methi
