Lemon poha (pohe) Upma | Lemon Aval (Avul) | Flattened rice-How to make-Video[in village]

Ingredients
- Aval [poha or Flattened rice] – 1 cup
- Peanuts – ¼ cup [roasted, peeled]
- Coconut – 4 tbsp [grated]
- Onion – 1 [sliced]
- Green chilli – 1 [sliced or chopped]
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Ginger – 1 ½ tbsp [finely chopped]
- Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp [roughly chopped]
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
- Bengal gram – 1 tbsp
- Urad dal – ½ tbsp
- Peppercorns – 5
- Lemon juice – 2 lemon
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Gingelly oil – 2 tbsp
- Asafetida a pinch
- Salt to taste
Preparation
- Wash smooth Aval and drain water. Don’t soak aval.
- Heat pan with oil add mustard seed, peppercorns, Bengal gram, urad dal and peanuts. Then add onion sauté well then add asafetida, ginger, green chilli & curry leaves.
- Add grated coconut and turmeric powder sauté gently.
- Add aval and salt then mix well. Add lemon juice mix well.
- Add chopped coriander leaves and pour gingelly oil over it and mix well. Cut off heat and serve hot with pickle, coconut chutney.
