Wheat poha upma | Godhumai aval upma-How to make-Step by step photos

Ingredients
- Whole wheat Poha [Godhumai aval or flattened wheat] – 1 cup
- Carrot – ½ cup [finely chopped]
- Coconut – ½ cup [grated]
- Onion – 1 [sliced]
- Green chilli – 1 [sliced or chopped]
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Ginger – 1 ½ tbsp [finely chopped]
- Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp [roughly chopped]
- Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
- Bengal gram – 1 tbsp
- Urad dal – ½ tbsp
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
Preparation
- Wash wheat poha then drain water.
- Steam it in an idli cooker about 3 minutes then let it cool.
- Heat pan with oil add mustard seed & let it splutter. Then add Bengal gram &urad dal.
- Add onion sauté till soft then add ginger, green chilli, carrot & curry leaves.
- Add coconut sauté gently.
- Add steamed wheat poha and salt then mix well.
- Sprinkle coriander leaves mix well. Then cut off heat and serve hot with pickle, coconut chutney.

Wheat poha upma
Wash & drain water
Place it in an idli cooker, cover lid & steam it for 3 min
3 min later, after steaming, spread over the plate & leave it for cool
Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, bengal gram, urad dal saute gently
Add onion saute till soft
Add green chilli & ginger saute
Add curry leaves, carrot & coconut saute
Add steamed wheat poha
Add salt & coriander leaves mix well then cut off heat
Wheat poha upma is ready to serve. Serve hot with chutney or pickle
