How to make crispy onion rings video
Ingredients
- Onion – 2 [cut into rings]
- Besan [gram flour, kadalai maavu] – 1/2 cup
- Rice flour – 1/4 cup
- Red chilli powder – ½ tbsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Oil for deep frying
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
Method
- Peel, slice onion then separate rings
- In a bowl add gram flour, rice, flour, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder & 1 tbsp hot oil mix well
- Add water, make flowing consistency batter.
- Dip onion rings in gram flour batter, drop it in hot oil, deep fry till crisp & golden brown
- Once its ready, remove it from oil, drain on absorbent paper, serve hot with tea or coffee. Best for morning school snacks (11 AM) or evening snack.

peel off the skin
Slice
Separate rings
Add gram flour[ Besan, chickpea flour]
Add rice flour
Add turmeric, red chilli powder, salt
Add water
Make flowing consistency batter
Add onion rings
Drop it in hot oil
Deep fry till crisp and golden brown
Flip over fry both sides
Now its ready, remove it from oil
Perfect onion rings
Drain on absorbent paper
Serve hot with tea or coffee
