Ingredients

  • Tomato – 4 [chopped]
  • Green chilli or dry red chilli -1 [slit]
  • Onion – 1 [sliced]
  • Garlic – 2 cloves [mashed]
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Red chilli powder – ¼ tsp
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar or jaggery – ¼ tsp
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Water as needed

Method

  • Heat oil in a pan then add mustard seeds. Once it’s spluttered add onion & garlic sauté till soft.
  • Add green chilli, curry leaves, tomato, turmeric & red chilli powder sauté well.
  • Add water and salt cover lid, let it boil & cook till soft.
  • When boiling add sugar then cut off heat, Serve hot with rice or ragi dosa
