Chow chow ellu kootu | Seema kathirikai ellu thengai kootu | Sesame Chayote dry curry

Ingredients
- Chow chow [seema kathirikai, Chayote] – 1 cup [Peeled, chopped]
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
- Bengal gram – ½ tbsp
- Urad dal – ½ tbsp
- Asafetida a pinch
- Salt to taste
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Water as needed
For Roasting & Grinding
- Black sesame seeds – 1 tbsp
- Dry red chilli – 1 to 2
- Coconut – 2 tbsp [grated]
- Heat oil in a pan roast above 3 ingredients & coarsely grind without water.
Method
- Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds & let its splutter. Then add Bengal gram, urad dal & curry leaves.
- Add chopped chow chow sauté then add turmeric powder & salt mix well then add water cook till soft.
- Then add freshly ground sesame coconut mixture mix well & leave it for 1 min.
- Then cut off heat & serve hot with rice.
