Beetroot uthappam-How to make-Step by step photos

Ingredients
- Dosa batter – 1 cup
- Beetroot – 4 tbsp [finely chopped]
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
Method
- Heat oil in a pan add chopped beetroot saute for 1 min then add turmeric, red chilli powder & salt saute for 2 min then cut off heat
- Heat iron dosa pan, pour batter, pour 1 tbsp of oil, add sauteed beetroot, cover lid & cook
- Once uthappam is ready, transfer to a plate & serve hot with chutney and sambar
How to make Beetroot uthappam- Step by Step Photos
Peel off the beetroot skin, wash and slice
Finely chop beetroot
Add turmeric powder
Add red chilli powder
Add salt saute only for 2 to 3 min[dont overcook]
Beetroot is ready, cut off heat
Heat iron dosa tawa, pour batter
Pour 1 tbsp of oil around the uttapam
Sprinkle sauted beetroot, pour 1 tbsp of oil over the beetroot
Cover lid & cook
Beetroot uthappam is ready, serve hot with green chutney
