Beetroot payasam | Beetroot kheer-How to make-Stepwise pictures & Video

Ingredients
- Beetroot -1 cup [finely grated]
- Ghee [melted butter] – 3 tbsp
- Milk-1 ½ cups
- Sugar- ¼ cup
- Sweet condensed milk – 1 tbsp
- Cardamom powder – ½ tbsp
- Almonds[Badam] - 5
- Pistachios - 4
- Cashew Nut[Munthiri] – 4
- Roasted vermicelli [semiya] – 1 tbsp
Preparation
- Heat ghee in a pan then roast cashew nuts, pistachios and almonds then chop & keep it aside.
- Then fry roasted vermicelli & keep it aside.
- In the same pan add 2 tbsp of ghee then add beetroot sauté for 3 min then add milk, & let it boil & thickens.
- Then add sugar mix well.
- Add sweet condensed milk, ghee roasted cashew nut, pistachios and almonds slices.
- Finally add cardamom powder & cut off heat.
- Serve hot or chilled.
Tip
- For another variation of beetroot payasam use sago, coconut milk, jaggery, nutmeg powder & saffron

Peel off the beetroot skin
Finely grate
Heat ghee in a pan roast almonds, cashews & pistachios
Fry roasted vermicelli
In the same pan add grated beetroot, 3 tbsp of ghee & saute for 3 min
Add milk, let it boil and cook till the milk is reduced by half
Add sugar
Add roasted nuts and vermicelli
Add cardamom powder
Add sweet condensed milk mix well and let it cook for a min
Healthy Beetroot kheer-payasam is ready. Serve hot or chilled
