Bengal Gram Laddu | Kadalai paruppu ladoo | Chana dal ladoo

Ingredients
- Bengal Gram[Kadalai paruppu]- 1 cup
- Jaggery [vellam]- 3/4 cup to 1 cup
- Cardamom powder - 1 tbsp
- Ghee - 2 tbsp
- Water as needed
Preparation
- Dry roast bengal gram till light brown
- Wash bengal gram 2 to 3 times, soak it for 2 hours
- Then cook till soft
- Drain excess water , finely grind without water.
- Heat pan add jaggery & 1/4 cup water cook till syrup consistency.
- Heat pan add ghee, bengal gram mixture, jaggery syrup cook for 5 min
- Add cardamom powder & roasted coconut, cut off heat.
- Divide them into equal portions, Then make equal size balls[ladoo] out of it.
- Serve immediately.
Tip
- Instead of Jaggery brown sugar or white sugar can be used.
- If you dont have time, skip soaking process & directly cook in pressure cooker.
- You can add any almond powder, cahew powder etc.
- You can use desiccated coconut
How to make Chana dal ladoo-Step by step photos
Take 1 cup chana dal
Dry roast till light brown
Cut off heat
Wash 2 to 3 times
Soak it for 2 to 3 times
Boil till soft
Cut off heat
Drain completely
Let it cool
Finely grind
Heat jaggery and 1/4 cup water
Boil for 3 min
Cut off heat, Keep it aside
Heat pan add coconut
Dry roast for 3 min
Heat pan, add grouind chana dal
Strain without impurities
Mix well
Add caradamom powder, divide the portion into equal size ladoo
