Khoya matar curry | Kova green peas potato curry-How to make-Step by step photos

Ingredients
- Matar [Green peas] – 1 cup [fresh]
- Khoya [kova] – ¼ cup
- Potato [aloo] – 1
- Tomato – 3
- Onion – 1 [chopped]
- Ginger – 1 tbsp [finely chopped or paste]
- Garlic – 3 [finely chopped or paste]
- Green chilli – 1 [slit]
- Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp [chopped]
- Cumin seeds – 1 tbsp
- Cinnamon stick – ½
- Star anise – ¼
- Bay leaf – 1
- Coriander powder – ½ tbsp
- Cumin powder – ½ tbsp
- Pepper powder – ¼ tsp
- Garam masala powder - ½ tsp
- Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
- Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
- Salt to taste
- Sugar a pinch
- Butter – 1 tbsp
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Water as needed
Preparation
- Wash & parboil potato & green peas.
- Wash and boil tomato then peel the skin off. Then put it in a mixer jar & finely grind.
- Heat oil & butter in a pan add star anise, cinnamon, & bay leaves sauté.
- Add cumin seeds & let it splutter.
- Add onion sauté till golden brown.
- Add ginger & garlic paste sauté then add green chilli sauté.
- Add boiled potato, green peas, salt, turmeric & red chilli powder sauté for 2 min.
- Add tomato puree mix well & let it boil.
- Then add khoya, coriander, cumin, pepper powder mix well.
- Add garam masala powder mix well & let it cook.
- Add remaing khoya, sugar & coriander leaves mix well & let it cook on low flame for 2 min.
- Then cut off heat, garnish with butter & serve hot with rice, roti, chapathi & naan.
Tip
- Dry roast kasoori methi then sprinkle it over the gravy for rich aroma
How to make Khoya matar curry - Step by step pictures [Easy]
Boil potato for 3 min, then add green peas boil it for another 2 min then drain water.
Boil tomatoes for 3 min
Peel off the skin
Put it in a mixer jar & grind to smooth puree
Tomato puree is ready
Dry roast cumin, coriander & peppercorns then let it cool
Put it in a stone mortar & finely grind
Heat oil & butter in a pan add cinnamon, bayleaf, & star anise saute till you get nice aroma
Add cumin seeds
Add onion saute till light brown
Add ginger, garlic &green chilli saute
Add salt
Add turmeric powder
Add red chilli powder
Saute well
Add tomato puree
Let it boil till raw smell out & add water / veg stock if required
Add freshly ground cumin, corainder, pepper masala powder
Add garam masala
Add khoya
Add sugar
Add coriander leaves & cut off heat
