Red chilli chutney | Sigappu milagai chutney | Vara Milagai Poondu Kara Chutney [Quick & Easy]

Ingredients
- Dry red chilli [Sigappu milagai, Vara Milagai] – 5
- Onion – 1 [sliced]
- Garlic – 3 cloves
- Salt to taste
- Water – 2 tbsp [Optional]
- Tamarind – 1 inch
- Gingelly oil – 2 tbsp
For seasoning [optional]
- Mustard seeds - 1 tbsp
- Bengal gram - ½ tbsp
- Urad dal - ½ tbsp
- Curry leaves - 1 spring
- Oil - 1 tbsp
Method
- In a mixer jar or stone mortar pestle add dry red chilli, onion, garlic, salt & tamarind then coarsely grind.
- Then add water or gingelly oil then finely grind.
- Transfer freshly ground mixture to a bowl then serve with idli, dosa
- For seasoning:- Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, Bengal gram & curry leaves.
- Add seasoned ingredients over the chutney & Serve with idli, dosa.
