Ingredients
- All purpose flour / Maida / Wheat flour– 1 cup
- Ghee or butter– 1 ½ tbsp
- Green cardamom – 3
- Sugar – 4 tbsp
- Milk – 2 tbsp [boiled, cooled]
- Water as needed
- Salt a pinch
- Oil & ghee for deep frying
Preparation
- Break the cardamom shell and take out the seeds.
- Grind to fine powder (Use pinch of sugar along with seeds and scratch using chapathi roller on any rough surface)
- In a bowl add all purpose flour, salt, ghee, milk, & 3 tbsp of sugar cardamom powder mix well.
- Add water knead it make soft dough. Then cover it & leave it for 15 to 20 min.
- Sprinkle flour & roll out into thick chapatti.
- Cut into strips first & then cut in to diamond shapes & leave it for 5 min.
- Heat oil & ghee in a pan then deep fry till golden brown on low to medium hot oil [Apr x 3 to 4 min].
- When it is ready take it out & drain on an absorbent paper.
- Then sprinkle 1 tbsp of powdered sugar cardamom over the biscuits mix well & let it cool.
- Store it in an airtight container and use within 5 days.
How to make Maida biscuits-Step by step photos
Maida or all purpose flour-1 cup
In a bowl add maida
Add ghee or butter
Add pinch of salt
In a mixer jar add sugar & peel off the cardamom skin
Add cardamom seeds & grind to fine powder
Sugar cardamom powder is ready
Add sugar cardamom mixture
Add water
Boil milk let it cool
Add milk mix well, knead it & make soft dough
Maida biscuit dough is ready
Sprinkle flour, roll out into thick chapatti
Cut into stripes
Then cut into diamond shapes
Heat pan add oil and ghee for deep frying
Maida biscuit thickness & shape
Add diamond pieces & deep fry on medium hot oil
Half fried, deep fry till crisp and golden brown
Once its ready & perfectly fried take it out from oil then drain on an absorbent paper
Sprinkle powdered sugar cardamom mixture toss gently & let it cool then store it in an airtight container use with in 5 days
