Sigappu arisi murukku | Red rice chakli-How to make-Step by step photos

Ingredients
- Sigappu arisi maavu [Red rice flour] – ½ cup
- Rice flour [Arisi maavu, chawal ka atta ]– 2 tbsp
- Gram flour [Besan, kadalai maavu]– 3 tbsp
- Roasted gram [pottukadalai, porikadalai] – 2 tbsp
- Red chilli powder – ¼ tsp
- White sesame seeds [Ellu] – 1 tbsp
- Cumin seeds [jeera] – 1 tbsp
- Ghee – 2 tbsp
- Oil for deep frying
- Salt to taste
- Warm Water as needed
Preparation Method
- In a mixer jar add roasted gram & grind to smooth powder.
- In a bowl add red rice flour, rice flour, gram flour, roasted gram powder, red chilli powder, sesame seeds, cumin seeds, salt & ghee mix well
- Then add warm water mix well, knead it & make soft dough [It should be soft & non sticky].
- Pour 1tbsp of oil, knead it again, cover it & keep it aside.
- Heat enough oil in a pan, take murukku mould plate then place it in a muruku kuzhal.
- Fill the prepared dough in a muruku kuzhal [one handful] & just press out or squeeze over the ladle & deep fry till crisp on medium hot oil.
- Flip over & fry another side.
- Once it ready or the oil sound disappears then take it out & drain on absorbent paper.
- Leave it for room temperature [Apr. 2 min]
- Then store it in an airtight container use within 5 days.
How to make Sigappu arisi murukku / Red rice chakli-Step by step photos
In a bowl add red rice flour, rice flour, gram flour & pottukadalai maavu
Add salt
Add cumin seeds
Add cumin seeds
Add red chilli powder
Add ghee mix well then add warm water, knead it & make soft dough
Dough is ready add 1 tbsp oil, & knead it again
Place one handful of dough in to the murukku kuzhal & press out
Heat oil in a pan squeeze over the oil & deep fry till crisp on both sides on medium flame
Once its ready take it out & drain on absorbent paper then let it cool & store in an airtight container
