Tomato radish dry curry | Thakkali mullangi roast-How to make-Step by step photos

Cuisine Style: Tamil Nadu, South India | Cooking Time: 15 minutes | To Serve: 4 | Take with: Idli, Dosa, Rice, Chapathi | Type : Sambar, Gravy, kulambu, curry, masala.
Ingredients
- Radish [Mullangi] – 3
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Red chilli powder – ¼ tsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Curry powder -1 tbsp [Chana dal, urad dal, cumin, coriander, pepper, mustard, fenugreek, curry leaves, coconut, dry red chilli, asafoetida]
- Asafetida a pinch
- Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
- Bengal gram & urad dal – 1 tbsp
- Urad dal- 1 tsp
- Oil – 3 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
For grinding ingredients
- Onion - 1
- Garlic - 3 cloves
- Tomato - 3
- Coconut - 2 tbsp
- Put all these ingredients in a mixie jar, grind to fine puree with 1/4 cup of water
Method
- Wash and peel radish. Then cut into circles.
- Heat pan with oil then add mustard seeds.
- Once it’s spluttered add Bengal gram, urad dal & asafoetida
- Add curry leaves & radish
- Add turmeric & red chilli powder sauté well.
- Then add water cook till soft.
- Add ground paste, salt mix well & let it boil till oil separates and thickens
- Once its ready, Cut off heat & sprinkle coriander leaves, serve hot with rice, or millets

Radish
Cut in to circle shapes
Heat 1.5 tbsp oil, add mustard, chan dal, urad dal, asafoetida, radish, red chilli & turmeric powder
Saute for 5 min
Add salt
Grind tomato, onion, garlic, coconut
Now its ready, keep it aside
Add water, cook till soft
3/4 th cooked
Add tomato mixture
Saute for 3 min
Cook till oil separates
Add curry powder
Cook for 3 min
Now its ready, cut off heat
