Ingredients
- Horse gram [kollu] – 3 tbsp
- Sambar Onion [shallots] – 6
- Coconut – 3 tbsp [grated]
- Dry red chilli -1
- Garlic – 2 cloves
- Bengal gram – 1 tbsp
- Urad dal – ½ tbsp
- Tamarind – ½ inch
- Coriander seeds – 1 tbsp
- Cumin seeds – 1 tbsp
- Peppercorns - 5
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
- Oil - 2 tbsp
Preparation Method
- Wash & soak horse gram for ½ an hour. Then boil in pressure cooker for 6 whistles.
- Heat pan with oil then roast Bengal gram and urad dal then keep it aside.
- Next roast cumin, coriander seeds & peppercorns.
- Next roast dry red chilli. Then roast onion, garlic and coconut.
- Put roasted ingredients, tamarind, boiled horse gram and salt in a mixer jar & grind to coarse or fine paste. Add water if required.
- Then serve with rice.
