Ingredients
- Red kidney beans [Rajma] – 1 cup
- Coconut – ¼ cup [grated]
- Onion – 1 [sliced, For Navrathri-Dont add]
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Coriander leaves – 2 springs [chopped]
- Green chilli – 1 [slit]
- Mustard seed – 1 tbsp
- Bengal gram – ½ tbsp
- Urad dal- ½ tbsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Red chilli powder – ¼ tsp
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed.
Preparation
- Wash and soak red kidney beans overnight. Then drain water and boil in pressure cooker for 5 whistles.
- Heat pan with oil add mustard seeds. Once it’s spluttered add Bengal gram, urad dal and onion sauté.
- Add green chilli, curry leaves, salt, turmeric, & red chilli powder mix well.
- Add boiled red kidney beans sauté well. Add salt if required.
- Add grated coconut mix well & cut off heat.
- Sprinkle coriander leaves & serve hot with rice.
