Lemon idiyappam | Lemon[Elumichai] sandavai -How to make-Step by step photos & Video

Ingredients
- Idiyappam [rice vermicelli, sandavai, rice sevai] – 1 cup
- Lemon - 1
- Peppercorns - 5
- Roasted peanuts – ¼ cup
- Ginger – 1 tbsp [finely chopped]
- Green chilli – 1 [slit]
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
- Bengal gram – 1 tbsp
- Urad dal – 1 tbsp
- Asafetida a pinch
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed.
Preparation Method
- Heat pan with 3 cups of water, add salt & let it boil. When boiling cut off heat, add idiyappam mix well, leave it for 5 min.
- Then drain the water & immediately put it in cold water, drain & keep it aside.
- Heat oil in a pan then add mustard seeds. Once it’s spluttered add Bengal gram, urad dal and peppercorns.
- Then add roasted peanuts sauté. Add ginger, green chilli and curry leaves sauté. Then add asafetida & turmeric powder.
- Add boiled idiyappam mix well. Then add lemon juice and salt mix well.
- Cut off heat. Serve hot with coconut chutney or pickles, chips.
