Unniyappam | Kerala special neyyappam-How to make-Step by step photos & Video

Ingredients
- Raw rice-1 cup
- Jaggery - 3/4 cup to 1 cup
- Coconut - 3/4 cup [grated]
- Cardamom - 3 pods
- Ghee- 4 tbsp
- Ripe Banana- 2
- Sesame seeds- 2 tbsp
- Coconut piece- 2 tbsp
- Salt a pinch
Preparation
- Wash & soak raw rice for 5 hours or overnight.
- Dry roast sesame seeds, keep it aside.
- Heat 1 tbsp in a pan, add coconut pieces roast.
- Heat pan add jagery and 1/2 cup water let it boil for 3 min then strain to remove impurities
- In a mixie jar add rice, coconut, cardamom pods, coarsely grind.
- Add jaggery syrup grind to smooth batter.
- Add salt, sesame seeds & coconut pieces mix well.
- Heat iron appam maker[paniyaram tawa], pour ghee around the appam cavities.
- Pour unniyappam batter, cover lid cook both sides till crisp & Golden brown.
- Then serve hot.

Take 1 cup raw rice
Wash & soak for 5 hours or overnight
After 5 hours soaked raw rice ready, drain water

In a mixie jar add soaked raw rice, coconut, cardamom grind
Heat pan add jaggery & water, let it boil for 3 min
Now its ready, cut off heat
Strain without lumps
Jaggery syrup ready, let it cool
In a mixi jar add 2 ripe banana, grind to smooth paste
Banana paste ready
Add jaggery syrup
Grind to fine batter
Add banana paste grind
Batter ready
Transfer batter to a bowl
Add pinch of salt
Dry roast sesame seeds
Add roasted sesame seeds
Ghee roast coconut pieces
Add roasted coconut pieces
Mix well
Unniyappam batter
Heat appam batter[paniyaram pan]
Pour batter
Cover lid, cook for 3 min
One side of appam ready
Flip over
Cook till golden brown
Delicious unniyappam ready
