Kambu pottukadalai murukku -How to make-Step by step photos

Ingredients
- Kambu maavu [Bajra flour, Pearl millet flour] – ½ cup
- Rice flour [Arisi maavu, chawal ka atta ]– 3 tbsp
- Gram flour [Besan, kadalai maavu]– 3 tbsp
- Roasted gram [pottukadalai, porikadalai] – 2 tbsp
- Red chilli powder – ¼ tsp
- White sesame seeds [Ellu] – 1 tbsp
- Cumin seeds [jeera] – 1 tbsp
- Ghee – 2 tbsp
- Oil for deep frying
- Salt to taste
- Warm Water as needed
Preparation Method
- In a mixer jar add roasted gram & grind to smooth powder.
- In a bowl add bajra flour, rice flour, gram flour, roasted gram powder, red chilli powder, sesame seeds, cumin seeds, salt & ghee mix well
- Then add warm water mix well, knead it & make soft dough [It should be soft & non sticky].
- Pour 1tbsp of oil, knead it again, cover it & keep it aside.
- Heat enough oil in a pan, take star murukku mould plate then place it in a muruku kuzhal.
- Fill the prepared dough in a muruku kuzhal [one handful] & just press out or squeeze over the ladle & deep fry till crisp on medium hot oil.
- Flip over & fry another side.
- Once it ready or the oil sound disappears then take it out & drain on absorbent paper.
- Leave it for room temperature [Apr. 2 min]
- Then store it in an airtight container use within 5 days.
How to make Kambu pottukadalai murukku -Step by step photos
In a bowl add bajra flour, rice flour
Add cumin seeds & salt
Add sesame seeds
Add red chilli powder
Add asafetida[perungayam]
Add gram flour
Add roasted gram flour [Pottukadalai maavu]
Add ghee and warm water mix well, knead it & make soft dough
Dough is ready add 1 tsp oil & knead it again
Take star murkku mold & fill the handful of dough
Squeeze over the ladle
Heat oil in a pan, deep fry till crisp and light brown on medium flame
Flip over & deep fry till crisp
Murukku is ready take it out
Drain on absorbent paper & let it cool
