Murungaikkai arachu vitta kulambu is simple healthy Kongu Nadu village style curry for Rice, millets & idli. Murungaikai contians rich source of iron & calsicum. Helpful for digestion. Reduce heart disese. Useful for bone strength, skin, eyes & teeth. Perfect immunity booster.

How to make Murungaikkai arachu vitta kuzhambu [Village style] video

Main ingredients

  • Murungaikkai [Drumstick]– 4 to 5
  • Onion – 1 big [sliced]
  • Tomato - 1
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Bengal gram– ½ tbsp
  • Urad dal– ½ tbsp
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Red chilli powder – ½ tbsp
  • Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 3 tbsp
  • Water As needed

ingredients for roasting and grinding

  • Sambar onion – 6 to 7
  • Red chilli- 1
  • Garlic - 4 cloves
  • Ginger - 1 inch piece
  • Tomato – 2
  • Coconut – 3 tbsp [grated]
  • Kongunadu masala powder - 2 tbsp
  • * Heat pan with oil roast all ingredients, put it in a mixie jar, then grind to fine paste with 1/2 cup of water

Method

  • Heat pan with oil then add mustard seeds, bengal gram and urad dal.
  • Add onion, curry leaves, murungaikai, tomato, turmeric, red chilli powder saute for 3 min
  • Add ground paste, add water mix well. Cover it and cook. Once raw smell out and boiled. Turn off heat.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves serve hot with rice, idly, dosa.
