Instant bread idli-How to make-Step by step photos

Ingredients
- Rava[Semolina] - 1 cup
- Brown Bread - 4 slices
- Curd -1 cup
- Water as needed
- Green chilli - 1 [chopped]
- Curry leaves - 1 spring
- Ginger - 1 tbsp [grated]
- Coriander Leaves - ½ cup [chopped]
- Mustard seeds - 1 tbsp
- Bengal gram - 1 tbsp
- Urad dal - 1 tbsp
- Asafetida - a pinch
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
Preparation
- In a mixer jar add brown bread, coarsely grind
- Roast rava for 3 min.
- In a bowl add roasted rava, poha, curd, salt and water, mix well and soak it for 30 min.
- Heat oil in a pan then add mustard seeds once it’s crackled add Bengal gram, urad dal, asafetida green chilli, ginger, and curry leaves fry
- Cut off heat then add chopped coriander leaves.
- Put these seasoned ingredients in bread rava batter mixture
- Heat idli cooker with water & let it boil.
- Then grease idly plates with oil and pour bread rava batter.
- Place it in boiling water, cover lid and steam it for 10 min.
- Then Serve hot with Coconut chutney or Traditional Sambar.
Note
- Don’t add too much water.
Tip
- Add turmeric while seasoning for color and flavour
- you can add spinach, tomato, carrot or beetroot
- Using this batter, you can make uthappam/pancake, appam[paniyaram], bonda/balls or vada [You can adjust the water consistency for vada and bonda]
- You can make poha cake using this steaming method
- For instant you can add ENO fruit salt or baking soda
- You can make dhokla, paniyaram using this batter
- You can add ragi or white bread.

Take brown bread
In a mixer jar add brown bread
Coarsely grind
In a bowl add ground brown bread
Add rava
Add curd
Add salt
Mix well
Add water if required
Batter ready, cover lid & leave it for 30 min
Add seasoned ingrdients
Mix well
Grease idli batter with sesame oil, pour batter, steam it for 10 min
After 10 min, soft idli ready
Healthy brown bread idli ready, serve hot with chutney/sambar
