Sweet potato halwa | Shakarkandi halwa-How to make-Step by step photos

Ingredients
- Sweet potato-1
- Ghee [melted butter] – 1/4 cup
- Milk-2 cups
- Sugar-3/4 cup
- Cardamom powder – ½ tbsp
- Almond-5
- Cashew Nut-4
- Saffron - few
Preparation
- Steam sweet potato, peel off the skin, cut into small cubes.
- In a wide pan take 1 tbsp of ghee and roast (light brown) almonds, cashew nuts & chop, keep it aside.
- In the same pan add ghee & sweet potato sauté for 2 minutes
- Add milk, stir well for 5 min
- Add sugar stir well till the mixture start leaving the pan & thickens.
- Then add cardamom powder, chopped nuts & saffron.
- Add ghee & stir continuously. When mixture becomes thick then cut off heat.
- Garnish with dry fruits serve cold / warm / hot
Tip
- For Instant sweet potato halwa use condensed milk.

Steam sweet potato
Heat ghee
Add steamed sweet potato
Mash well
Add milk, let it boil
Add saffron
Add sugar
Add cardamom powder
Stir well till it thickens
Mixture starts leaving the pan
Sweet potato halwa ready, cut off heat
Sprinkle nuts & serve
