How to make Mini dahi vada[bonda] video


Ingredients

  • Urad dal – 1 cup
  • Curd – 2 cups
  • Green chilli – 1[finely chopped]
  • Ginger – 1 tbsp [finely chopped]
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring [finely chopped]
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar - 1 tbsp
  • Oil for deep frying[apr.¼ ltr]
  • Water as needed

For Tempering

  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Mustard - 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 1 spring

For garnishing

  • Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp [finely chopped]
  • Red chilli powder – ½ tbsp

Preparation

  • Wash and soak urad dal for 5 hours.
  • Then put it in a mixie jar, grind to smooth batter with small amount of water
  • Transfer batter to a bowl
  • Add coriander, curry leaves, ginger, green chilli & salt mix well
  • Take a bowl with curd, add salt & sugar mix well & keep it aside.
  • For tempering: -Add 1 tbsp oil in a ladle, add mustard, curry leaves, asafoetida
  • Add tempering ingredients to curd mixture mix well
  • Heat oil in a pan, drop urad dal balls in hot oil, deep fry till light brown
  • Add fried balls in curd mixture, soak it for 5 min
  • Sprinkle coriander, red chilli powder, serve

Grind to smooth & fluffy batter with small amount of waterMini Dahi Vada step 5

Transfer batter to a bowl, beat wellMini Dahi Vada step 7

Add saltMini Dahi Vada step 8

add ginger, curry leaves, coriander leavesMini Dahi Vada step 9

Make small balls, drop it in hot oilMini Dahi Vada step 11

Deep fry till crisp & golden brownMini Dahi Vada step 12

Now its ready, remove it from oilMini Dahi Vada step 13

Drain on absorbent paperMini Dahi Vada step 14

In a bowl add curd, sugar & saltMini Dahi Vada step 15

Add seasoned ingredientsMini Dahi Vada step 16
