Omam rice | Carom seeds rice | Ajwain rice-How to make-Step by step photos-Lunch box recipe

Ingredients
- Rice – 1 cup [boiled]
- Omam[Carom seeds, Ajwain] – 1 ½ tbsp
- Dry red chilli – 2
- Peppercorns - 4
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Garlic – 2 cloves
- Asafetida a pinch
- Salt to taste
- Gingelly oil [sesame oil, nal ennai]– 1 ½ tbsp
Preparation Method
- Dry roast Omam, dry red chilli & peppercorns one by one then let it cool.
- Put roasted ingredients in a mixer jar or stone mortar pestle & coarsely grind without water.
- Heat gingelly oil in a pan, add curry leaves, garlic, & asafetida sauté. Then add freshly ground omam powder mixture.
- Then add boiled rice & salt mix well.
- Pour 1 tbsp of ginelly oil mix well then cut off heat. Serve hot.
How to make Medicinal Omam rice-Step by step photos
Heat iron pan, Then dry roast omam
Then dry roast peppercorns
Then dry roast red chilli
Put roasted ingredients in a stone mortar pestle & grind to fine powder without water
After grinding-Omam rice powder mixture is ready
Heat gingelly oil in a pan, add curry leaves, asafetida & garlic fry in low flame
Add freshly ground omam rice powder mix well
Add boiled rice & salt mix well
Now omam sadam is ready & cut off heat
Carom seeds rice-Transfer to a serving bowl & serve hot
