How to make Avarakkai arachu vitta kuzhambu [Village style] video
Main ingredients
- Avarakkai [Broad beans, fava beans]– 1/4 kg
- Onion – 1 big [sliced]
- Tomato - 2
- Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
- Bengal gram– ½ tbsp
- Urad dal– ½ tbsp
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Red chilli powder – ½ tbsp
- Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
- Tamarind water - 1/4 cup
- Salt to taste
- Oil – 3 tbsp
- Water As needed
ingredients for roasting and grinding
- Sambar onion – 6 to 7
- Red chilli- 1
- Garlic - 4 cloves
- Ginger - 1 inch piece
- Tomato – 2
- Coconut – 3 tbsp [grated]
- Cumin, coriander, pepper, fennel, cinnamon - 1 tbsp [each]
- * Heat pan with oil roast all ingredients, put it in a mixie jar, then grind to fine paste with 1/2 cup of water
Method
- Heat pan with oil then add mustard seeds, bengal gram and urad dal.
- Add onion, curry leaves, avarakkai [broad beans], turmeric, red chilli powder saute for 3 min
- Add tomato saute till soft
- Add ground paste, add water mix well. Cover it and cook.
- Add taamrind water, let it boil for 5 min
- Once its ready, cut off heat, serve hot with rice, idly, dosa.
How to make Avarakkai arachu vitta kuzhambu - Step by step [Simple, Easy]
Fresh Avarakkai
Add allroasting & grinding ingredients
Add roasted ingredients, finely grind
Now its ready, keep it aside
Heat 2 tbsp oil, add mustard, chana, urad dal, onion, aasafoetida, avarakkai
Add tomato saute till soft
Add water, cook for 3 min
Add ground paste & water, let it boil
Add kongunadu masala powder
Add tamrrind water, boil for 5 min
Now its ready, cut off heat
