Ingredients
- Moong dal - 1 cup
- Rava[Semolina] - 1/2 cup
- Curd - ½ cup
- Water as needed
- Eno fruit salt - 1 tbsp
- For seasoning:-
- Mustard seeds - 1 tbsp
- Bengal gram - 1 tbsp
- Urad dal - 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder - a pinch
- Asafetida - a pinch
- Green chilli - 1 [chopped]
- Curry leaves - 1 spring
- Ginger - 1 tbsp [grated]
- Coriander Leaves - ½ cup [chopped]
- Oil - 3 tbsp
- Salt to taste
Preparation
- Wash and soak moong dal for 4 to 5 hours then finely grind
- Transfer moong dal batter to a bowl , add rava, curd, salt, water mix well make smooth batter
- Cover it leave it for 30 min
- Then add seasoned ingredients
- Add Eno furit salt and water. mix well make fluffy batter
- Grease idli plates with sesame oil, Pour batter
- Steam it for 15 min on medium flame
- Once its ready, rem
Note
- Don’t add too much water.
Tip
- Add turmeric while seasoning and lemon juice for Lemon Rava Idli

Moong dal rava idli
add 1 cup moong dal
Soak it for 4 to 5 hours
5 hours later, drain water
Put it n a mxie jar
Add gigner, green chilli
Add water, coarsely grind
Transfer to a bowl
add 1 cup rava [semolina]
add curd
Add salt
Mix well
COver lid, leave it for 30 min
30 min later, rava absorbed all the curd and water
Seasoning:- Mustard, gigner, green hcilli, curry, coriander leaves, turmeric, hing
Add seasoned ingredients
Add ENO fruit salt
Add water
Mix well till fluffy
Grease idli plates with sesame oil
Pour batter
Place it in a idli cooker, cook for 15 min
Now its ready, cut off heat
Remove it frm idli plates
Serve hot with tomato chilli chutney
Perfect healthy breaskfast / dinner in 15 min
