Cuisine Style: South India | Cooking Time: 10 to 15 minutes | To Serve: 2 | Take with: Chutney | Type: Breakfast or Dinner

Ingredients

  • Moong dal - 1 cup
  • Rava[Semolina] - 1/2 cup
  • Curd - ½ cup
  • Water as needed
  • Eno fruit salt - 1 tbsp
  • For seasoning:-
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Bengal gram - 1 tbsp
  • Urad dal - 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder - a pinch
  • Asafetida - a pinch
  • Green chilli - 1 [chopped]
  • Curry leaves - 1 spring
  • Ginger - 1 tbsp [grated]
  • Coriander Leaves - ½ cup [chopped]
  • Oil - 3 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Preparation

  • Wash and soak moong dal for 4 to 5 hours then finely grind
  • Transfer moong dal batter to a bowl , add rava, curd, salt, water mix well make smooth batter
  • Cover it leave it for 30 min
  • Then add seasoned ingredients
  • Add Eno furit salt and water. mix well make fluffy batter
  • Grease idli plates with sesame oil, Pour batter
  • Steam it for 15 min on medium flame
  • Once its ready, rem

Note

  • Don’t add too much water.

Tip

  • Add turmeric while seasoning and lemon juice for Lemon Rava Idli
