Kandi Kattu

Type: Lunch or Dinner thick gravy
Ingredients
- Tur dal-1 cup
- Bengal gram-1 tbs
- Jeera-1 tbs
- Red chillies-6
- Mustard Seed-1 tsp
- Urad dal-1 tsp
- Curry leaves-1 spring
- Coriander leaves-1 spring
- Salt as needed
- Tamarind water (very diluted)
Preparation
- Dry roast Tur dal, Bengal gram, Red chili, Cumin seed and soak them in water for 1 hour.
- Grind them to fine paste.
- In pan heat oil then pour the ground paste after seasoning with mustard seed, urad and curry leaves.
- Add tamarind water and stir well.
- Remove from flame after 5 minutes.
- Put coriander leaves.
- Serve with rice or chapatti.
Note
- Don’t grind without roasting the ingredients.
Tip
- Try this recipe by adding 1 tbs coriander seed.
