How to make crispy onion rings video


Ingredients

  • Onion – 2 [cut into rings]
  • Besan [gram flour, kadalai maavu] – 1/2 cup
  • Rice flour – 1/4 cup
  • Red chilli powder – ½ tbsp
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed

Method

  • Peel, slice onion then separate rings
  • In a bowl add gram flour, rice, flour, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder & 1 tbsp hot oil mix well
  • Add water, make flowing consistency batter.
  • Dip onion rings in gram flour batter, drop it in hot oil, deep fry till crisp & golden brown
  • Once its ready, remove it from oil, drain on absorbent paper, serve hot with tea or coffee. Best for morning school snacks (11 AM) or evening snack.
