Ingredients

  • Moong dal - 1 cup
  • Milk - 3 cup
  • Saffron – few
  • Jaggery – ½ cup
  • Green cardamom powder - ½ tbsp
  • Cashew nuts - 7
  • Raisins - 8
  • Almonds [sliced] - 6
  • Ghee - 3 tbsp
  • Water – ½ cup[optional]

Preparation

  • Dry roast moong dal.
  • Heat pan with ghee then roast cashew nuts, raisins and almonds keep it aside.
  • In the same pan add milk, water, roasted moong dal & cook till soft [apr 15 min]. Then add jaggery mix well.
  • Add ghee roasted cashew nut, raisins and almonds slices.
  • Finally add cardamom powder & saffron then cut off heat.
  • Serve hot or cold.

Tip

  • For Instant Pasi paruppu payasam use condensed milk. For another variation use coconut milk.
