Ingredients
- Wheat flour - 1 cup
- Rava [semolina]–2 tbsp
- Spinach puree as needed
- Ghee or butter– 1/4 cup
- Carom seed[ajwain, omam] - 1 tbsp
- Red chilli powder - 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
- Water as needed
- Oil & ghee for deep frying
Preparation
- In a bowl add wheat flour, rava, ghee, ajwain, salt, red chilli powder, 3 tbsp hot oil, mix well.
- Add spinach puree & water, knead it make semi soft dough.
- Then cover it & leave it for 15 to 20 min.
- Divide the dough into small balls , roll out into thin chapathi, using knife, cut into stripes only in the middle
- Fold & stick the edges & shape champakali.
- Heat oil & ghee in a pan, drop raw champakali, deep fry till crisp & golden brown on low to medium hot oil
- When it is ready take it out & drain on an absorbent paper.
- Store it in an airtight container and use within 5 days.

Divide the dough into equal size balls
Rollout into thin circles
Cut into stripes
Fold
Stick the edges
Raw palak champakali ready
Heat oil, drop raw champakali, deep fry till crisp
Flip over fry both sides on medium flame
Now its ready, remove it from oil
