Ingredients

  • Wheat flour - 1 cup
  • Rava [semolina]–2 tbsp
  • Ghee or butter– 1/4 cup
  • Carom seed[ajwain, omam] - 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
  • Spinach puree- as needed
  • Water as needed
  • Oil & ghee for deep frying

Preparation

  • In a bowl add wheat flour, rava, ghee, ajwain, salt, red chilli powder, 3 tbsp hot oil, mix well.
  • Add spinach puree, knead it make dough.
  • Then cover it & leave it for 15 to 20 min.
  • Divide the dough into small balls , using fork, shape kulkul
  • Heat oil & ghee in a pan, drop spinach kulkul, then deep fry till crisp & golden brown on low to medium hot oil
  • When it is ready take it out & drain on an absorbent paper.
  • Store it in an airtight container and use within 5 days.
