Ingredients
- Wheat flour - 1 cup
- Rava [semolina]–2 tbsp
- Ghee or butter– 1/4 cup
- Carom seed[ajwain, omam] - 1 tbsp
- Red chilli powder - 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
- Beetroot juice - as needed
- Water as needed
- Oil & ghee for deep frying
Preparation
- In a bowl add wheat flour, rava, ghee, ajwain, salt, red chilli powder, 3 tbsp hot oil, mix well.
- Add beetroot juice knead it make dough. Then cover it & leave it for 15 to 20 min.
- Divide the dough into small balls , using fork, shape kulkul
- Heat oil & ghee in a pan then deep fry till crisp & golden brown on low to medium hot oil
- When it is ready take it out & drain on an absorbent paper.
- Store it in an airtight container and use within 5 days.
How to make Spicy kulkul-Step by step photos
In a bowl add wheat flour, rava, ajwain, red chilli powder, turmeric powder & hot oil
Add salt
Add ghee
Add beetroot juice
Mix well, make semi soft dough
Dough is ready, cover it, leave it for 30 min
Divide the dough into equal size balls
Using fork, shape kulkul using fork
Kulkul ready
Raw kulkul ready
Heat enough oil, add raw kulkul
Deep fry till crisp & golden brown
Now its ready, remove from oil
Crispy & spicy kulkul ready
