How to make Bellam gavvalu sweet video
Ingredients
- Maida/wheat flour - 1 cup
- chiroti rava- 1 tbsp
- Jaggery - 1/2 cup
- Water - 1/5 cup
- Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
- Salt a pinch
- Hot oil/ghee - 2 tbsp
- Water as required
Preparation
- In a bowl add Maida/wheat flour, chiroti rava, ghee, water and salt mix well.
- Then add water slowly to make the soft dough.
- Cover it, leave it for 15 min.
- Divide the dough into small balls , using fork or gavvalu maker, shape gavval [shell shape]
- Heat oil & ghee in a pan then deep fry till crisp & golden brown on low to medium hot oil
- When it is ready take it out & drain on an absorbent paper.
- For jaggery syrup:- Add water & jaggery in a pan mix gently & let it dissolves.
- Boil until 1 string consistency or semi-hard balls consistency then cut off heat.
- Add fried gavvalu in to the jaggery syrup & leave it for 5 min.
- Then take it out & cool it in room temperature.
- Once jaggery syrup fully absorbed & totally dried store it in an airtight container & use within 10 days
