How to make Bellam gavvalu sweet video


Ingredients

  • Maida/wheat flour - 1 cup
  • chiroti rava- 1 tbsp
  • Jaggery - 1/2 cup
  • Water - 1/5 cup
  • Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt a pinch
  • Hot oil/ghee - 2 tbsp
  • Water as required

Preparation

  • In a bowl add Maida/wheat flour, chiroti rava, ghee, water and salt mix well.
  • Then add water slowly to make the soft dough.
  • Cover it, leave it for 15 min.
  • Divide the dough into small balls , using fork or gavvalu maker, shape gavval [shell shape]
  • Heat oil & ghee in a pan then deep fry till crisp & golden brown on low to medium hot oil
  • When it is ready take it out & drain on an absorbent paper.
  • For jaggery syrup:- Add water & jaggery in a pan mix gently & let it dissolves.
  • Boil until 1 string consistency or semi-hard balls consistency then cut off heat.
  • Add fried gavvalu in to the jaggery syrup & leave it for 5 min.
  • Then take it out & cool it in room temperature.
  • Once jaggery syrup fully absorbed & totally dried store it in an airtight container & use within 10 days
