Ingredients

  • Idli Rice – 4 cups
  • Urad dal – 1 cup
  • Sago [Javvarisi] - 1/5 cup
  • Fenugreek – 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed

Preparation

  • Wash and Soak rice, urad dal, sago with fenugreek separately for 6 hours.
  • Drain water, put soaked ingredients in a mixie jar, grind to smooth batter.
  • Add salt and leave the batter for fermentation [approximately. 8 hours].
  • Grease thatte idli plates with gingelly oil.
  • Pour thatte idly batter. Then steam it for 15 min.
  • Serve hot with coconut chutney and Sambar.
