Thatte idli [Thattu idli]-South karnataka special breakfast- How to make-Stepwise Pictures & Video

Ingredients
- Idli Rice – 4 cups
- Urad dal – 1 cup
- Sago [Javvarisi] - 1/5 cup
- Fenugreek – 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
Preparation
- Wash and Soak rice, urad dal, sago with fenugreek separately for 6 hours.
- Drain water, put soaked ingredients in a mixie jar, grind to smooth batter.
- Add salt and leave the batter for fermentation [approximately. 8 hours].
- Grease thatte idli plates with gingelly oil.
- Pour thatte idly batter. Then steam it for 15 min.
- Serve hot with coconut chutney and Sambar.

How to make Thatte idli- Stepwise procedure with pictures [Simple, Easy]
Thatte idli ingredients, wash and soak it for 8 hours
Put soaked sago, grind to smooth batter
Pour sago batter
Add soaked urad dal, fenugreek, grind to smooth batter
Pour urad dal batter
Add soaked idli rice, grind to fine batter
Pour rice flour batter
Add salt
Mix well
Cover it, leave it for fermentation
After fermentation
Gently mix
Grease idli plates with sesame oil
Pour batter
Fill all the plates
Place it in a thatte idli plate stand
Place it in idli cooker
Steam it for 15 min
After 15 min
Soft idli ready
Leave it for 3 min
Remove it from idli plates
Spongy thatte idli ready
Serve hot with onion chutney
For onion chutney:-Add chana, urad dal, garlic, dry red chilli, curry leaves
Add onion, salt
Add turmeric, tamarind
Saute till soft
Put it in a mixie jar
Fienly grind
Transfer mixture to a bowl
Serve with thatte idli
