Ingredients
- Semiya [vermicelli] – 200 gram
- Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
- Peppercorns - 5
- Roasted peanuts – ¼ cup
- Coconut – 3 tbsp [grated]
- Capsicum – ¼ cup [chopped]
- Onion – 1 [sliced]
- Ginger – 1 tbsp [finely chopped]
- Green chilli – 1 [slit]
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Coriander leaves – 2 springs [chopped]
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
- Bengal gram – 1 tbsp
- Urad dal – 1 tbsp
- Asafetida a pinch
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed.
Preparation
- Put vermicelli in boiling water for 3 min. Then drain water & immediately run through cold water.
- Heat oil in a pan then add mustard seeds. Once it’s spluttered add Bengal gram, urad dal and peppercorns.
- Then add roasted peanuts and onion sauté till soft. Add capsicum, coconut, ginger, green chilli and curry leaves sauté. Then add asafetida & turmeric powder.
- Add boiled vermicelli mix well. Then add lemon juice and salt mix well.
- Then add coriander leaves, cut off heat. Serve hot with coconut chutney or pickles, chips.
