Ingredients

  • Idli Rice – 2 cups
  • Karnataka kolam rice - 1 cup
  • Urad dal – 1/4 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Warm water - 1/5 cup
  • Active dry yeast - 1 and 1/4 tsp
  • Sugar - 1 tbsp

Preparation

  • Wash and Soak idli rice, kolam rice , & urad dal for 5 hours.
  • In a bowl ad active dry yeast, sugar, warm water, let it rice for 8 min
  • Drain water then grind well, add salt mix well
  • Add activated yeast in a batter, mix well then let it rice for 2 hours
  • Grease small bowl or cups with with gingelly oil. Pour batter.
  • Then steam it for 20 min on medium flame
  • Serve hot with coconut chutney and Sambar.
