Ingredients
- Fresh Mochakottai [Lima Beans] – 1 cup
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
- Asafetida a pinch
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed.
For roasting and grinding
- Bengal gram – 1 tbsp
- Urad dal - ½ tbsp
- Coriander seeds -1 tbsp
- Cumin Seeds – 1 tbsp
- Dry red chilli - 1
- Coconut – ¼ cup [grated]
- Heat oil in a pan, roast all ingredients & grind to fine paste with ¼ cup of water
Method
- Boil mochakottai till soft.
- Heat oil in a pan then add mustard seeds. Once it’s spluttered add curry leaves & asafetida.
- Add mochakottai, turmeric powder & salt mix well & sauté.
- Add ground paste & water mix well & let it boil. When boiling cut off heat serve hot with ven pongal, paal pongal

Add boiled mochakottai
Add turmeric powder & salt
Ingredients in mixer jar-ready to grind
Add ground paste, water mix well & let it boil.
When boiling cut off heat
Ready to serve
