Ulundu Kanji | Urad dal porridge-How to make-Step by step photos & Video

This is yet another healthy breakfast recipe. Its too good for the growing children. Its easy, tasty and helathy. Though its liquid / semi fluid one glass of Ulundhu kanji is more than sufficient for breakfast. Kids will love this. Try it now!
Ingredients
- Urad Dal - 3 tbsp
- Grated Coconut - 3 tbsp
- Cardomom powder - 1/2 tsp
- Sugar or jaggery - 4 tbsp
- Water as needed
- Salt a pinch
Preparation
- Wash & soak urad dal for 3 hours.
- Then drain water & Coarse grind urad dal without water.
- In a pan heat water, add coarsely ground urad dal, mix well without lumps.
- Then let it boil for 3 min
- Add brown sugar, grated coconut and pinch of salt mix well
- Spinkle cardomom powder and mix well
- Serve hot with appalam
Tip
- You can add saffron for color

Wash & soak urad dal for 3 hours
Brown sugar- 4 to 5 tbsp
Coconut - 3 pieces
Cardamom powder- 1 tbsp
Coarsely grind urad dal without water
Heat water in a pan[Apr.2 cups]
Add ground urad dal, mix well without lumps
Grate coconut, let it boil for 3 min
Add sugar
Add cardamom powder
Now its ready, cut off heat
Delicious & healthy ulundhu kanji ready, serve hot.
