Ragi Kolukattai is yet another healthy ancient traditional recipe. You can prepare this Ragi Kolukattai in simple easy 3 steps.
When you get bored with usual Idli, chutney sambar it’s a reliever from the boredom breakfast. How beauitiful it looks when sugar & grated coconut over the steamed kolukattai? It would taste great when you have one. Still what are you waiting for?
Ingredients
- Ragi powder (Optional : dry roast ragi powder for 2 mins)-1 cup
- Grated Coconut- ½ cup
- Jaggery - ½ cup [grated]
- Cardamom powder- ½ tbsp
- Salt - pinch
- Sugar - 1 tbs
- Water- 3 tbsp
Preparation
- Take ragi flour, grated coconut, Jaggery, pinch of salt, cardamom powder in a bowl and mix well, then sprinkle water & make dough. (This dough should like pic 1)
- Take a lemon size of dough and make kolukattai (using your five fingers refer pic 2)
- Then steam it for 10 minutes in a steamer (idli cooker or idli koppar refer pic 3i) & serve hot

Ragi kolukattai ingredients
In a bowl add ragi flour, coconut, grated jaggery & cardamom powder mix well & sprinkle water mix well & make coarse mixture. Pic 1:Before making dumplings
Take lemon size balls from the mixture then fold with 5 fingers. Then steam it for 8 min. Pic 2:Before steaming
