Carrot sago payasam | Sabudana kheer-How to make-Step by step photos

Ingredients

  • Sago [Sabudana, javvarisi] – ½ cup
  • Carrot - 1 [finely grated]
  • Milk-1 ½ cups
  • Sugar- ¼ cup
  • Cardamom powder – ½ tbsp
  • Ghee [melted butter] – 3 tbsp
  • Pistachios – 4 [ghee roasted]
  • Water as needed

Preparation

  • Wash & soak sago for 2 hours
  • Heat ghee in a pan add carrot sauté for 2 min.
  • Add milk, water, & let it boil
  • Add soaked sago cook for 2 min
  • Then add sugar mix well cook till colour changes to transparent.
  • Finally add cardamom powder, and then cut off heat.
  • Garnish with pistachios serve hot, warm or chilled.

Tip

  • For another variation of carrot payasam use condensed milk or jaggery & coocnut milk.
  • You can add roasted cashewnuts,rainsins & almonds
