Kavuni arisi payasam-How to make-Step by step photos & Video

Ingredients
- Kavuni rice [Purple rice]- 1/2 cup
- ghee -2 tbsp
- Water - 2 cups
- Milk - 4 cups
- Sugar/jaggery/naattu sakarai - 1/4 cup
- Cardamom powder- 1/2 tsp
- Cashew, raisins, chironji - 1/4 cup
Preparation
- Wash & soak kavuni arisi for 4 hours or overnight
- Heat ghee in a pan then roast cashew nuts, raisins, pistachio & almonds keep it aside.
- In the same pan add kavuni rice sauté for 3 min
- Then add milk, water, & let it boil for 6 t o7 whistle
- Then add sugar/jaggery mix well.
- Finally add cardamom powder, ghee roasted cashew nut, raisins and chironji.
- Serve hot or cold.
Tip
- For another variation of kavuni payasam use condensed milk or jaggery
